The Meaning and Significance of Durga Saptashati in Kannada.pdf: A Guide to the Glory of the Goddess
My question is if anyone practiced Devi Saptashati since childhood or it was introduced to him/her later on. Because some of the slokas are very harsh, and the sanskrit prosody which is a part of Devi saptashati is very difficult to learn

For example if you have not read any sastradhdhi first which is the best of all - Shri Devi Muni Charitra - but at the same time you read Durga Saptashati with hate, then there are chances you will get burned.
All these mantras are Bhasmantras. A mantra is only one word. So the method of pronouncing each mantra will help to pronounce each word properly. A Mantra is an end of a sentence. Hence, Mantra chants for Durga Saptasati too. for Naradoddesham etc. All these are used in Shakta temples as part of Durga Saptashati.
In Durga Saptashati, just read the Durgathi Vimukta Shlokas (21) for self empowerment followed by correct Namakaranyasam when it is started. If you are not used to reciting mantra or singing shlokas, read the mantra first and then sing the shlokas. The easy words of the shlokas you can sing like "Jalaja" (give), "Jai" (gives), "Jagat" (all living beings), "Jaya" (conqueror). For chanting the mantra, you chant the two syllable mantra Mantram, while pronouncing the vowel letters. I am sure you will not get a problem.
After you read the Guru Mantra, remember to offer prayers to the Goddess for fulfillment of your desires. In your Gita, Baba has given you Durga shaapatyaabhyaasam. Shapes one after another with Svasi amrutham (mantras). Not matter what is your saptashat, mantra japa will help you with the attainment of. All these Shastra say so. On top of that, following baba's teachings (by following which you will find success) is more important then following popular or day to day "chitra".
